This policy explains how the UltimateRoll iPhone app (the "app") and this website handle information. UltimateRoll is developed and sold by 5000 Horizons ("I", "me").

In short

  • No accounts, analytics, advertising, or tracking.
  • No servers. The app makes no network connections of its own and contains no third-party code.
  • All photo analysis happens on your device.
  • I don't sell or share personal information, because I don't collect any.
  • The app's App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected."

Photo library access

UltimateRoll asks for permission to access your photo library so it can show you your photos and videos and, only when you confirm, move the ones you choose to Recently Deleted. You can give Full Access, or Limited Access to only the items you select.

You can change or turn off access at any time: open the Settings app, tap Apps, tap UltimateRoll, then tap Photos.

On-device processing

To find duplicates, similar shots, and blurry photos, UltimateRoll uses Apple's Vision framework on your device. It analyzes small previews that are already stored on your iPhone. Your photos, your videos, and the results of this analysis are never sent to me or to anyone else.

Information stored on your device

UltimateRoll keeps the following in its own storage on your iPhone:

The app never sends this information anywhere. Decide Later and your other decisions are stored only in UltimateRoll; they never change your Favorites, albums, or anything else in your photo library. All of this information is deleted when you delete the app. Like other app data, it may be included in your iPhone's backups if you use iCloud Backup or back up to a computer.

iCloud Photos

If you use iCloud Photos, some of your full-size photos and videos may be stored in iCloud rather than on your iPhone. When you view one of those items full screen in UltimateRoll, iOS may download it from your iCloud library so it can be shown at full quality. That transfer happens directly between your device and Apple, and I don't receive anything. The app's background analysis never downloads photos or videos from iCloud.

Deleting photos and videos

UltimateRoll removes items from your library only after you confirm in iOS's own confirmation dialog. Removed items go to Recently Deleted, under Utilities in the Photos app, where you can recover them for 30 days before iOS deletes them permanently. If you use iCloud Photos, deletions apply to all of your devices that use iCloud Photos.

Information from Apple

Purchases are processed by Apple. I never see your payment details or your Apple Account. Apple gives developers aggregated reports about things like sales and downloads. If you've turned on Share With App Developers (in the Settings app under Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements), Apple may also share crash reports and app usage statistics with me. These reports come from Apple, don't identify you personally, and are covered by Apple's privacy policy. I use them only to understand sales and fix bugs.

Email support

If you email support, I'll receive your email address and anything you choose to include. I use it only to reply to you. I don't share it, sell it, or add you to any mailing list, and I keep it only as long as needed to help you.

This website

This website (ultimateroll.5000horizons.com) doesn't set cookies or use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or third-party resources such as external fonts or scripts. The hosting provider that serves the site may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the date and time, for security and to keep the site running. I don't use these logs to identify or track visitors.

Children

UltimateRoll doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your choices

Because the app doesn't collect personal data, I don't hold any app data about you to access, correct, or delete. You control everything stored on your device: you can change photo access in Settings at any time, or delete the app to remove all of its data. If you've emailed me and want that correspondence deleted, just ask.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I'll post the updated version on this page and update the effective date at the top.
